  • Our office will add the registration fee to your Rising account if this is your first time registering within the 2024 calendar year

  • If you have added your credit card to your account our office will process the yearly fee

  • If no credit card has been added we will send you a statement to complete payment.

  • * 2024 fee does not apply to drop in programs, workshops, camps

TEEN AERIAL ABCS

This course is your teens first step in aerial circus training.

Beginner Students must complete this course before signing up for our other aerial classes.

Students will learn the foundations of aerial hammock, silk, hoop, and trapeze.

Develop your aerial knowledge, strength, and skill base with skills such as Mermaid, Man in the Moon, Catchers Lock, Russian Climb and more!

HOOP & TRAPEZE CLASSES

BASICS/NOVICE HOOP & TRAPEZE

* This is a mixed levels class

Beginner/Novice skills, hangs, spins, transitions and sequences on aerial hoop & trapeze.  Gain strength, flexibility, and coordination to build your skill repertoire.  Explore the apparatus at different heights and enjoy the spinning beauty of the hoop and the dynamism of the trapeze. A routine will be taught at the end of the session.

Prerequisites:

Basics: Aerial ABC's or equivalent​

Novice: Solid grasp of basics.  Able to mount/dismount hoop with ease. Knee Hang 20 sec.  Able to work on all levels of hoop- under hoop,  inside hoop, on top of hoop.  Flexed arm hang 15 sec, able to hold your inversion

INTERMEDIATE HOOP & TRAPEZE

Mondays 5:15 - 6:15pm

Intermediate skills, spins, transitions, and a strong emphasis on sequencing and working with a spin.  Start working on progressive skills and learn new mounts/dismounts onto/off the apparatus. The apparatus will be used at various heights.  Gain more strength, flexibility, and skill knowledge. A routine will be taught at the end of the session

Prerequisites: single knee hangs 20 sec, 10 chin up feet on ground, 10 tuck leg lifts, 5 skin the cats, 1 arm hangs 10 sec each arm, comfortable working with spin, minimum 1 year consistent training, pull over on bottom and top bar with proper technique

BASICS SILK & HAMMOCK

After Aerial ABC's your teen may choose to specialize in aerial Silk & Hammock.  This class would be their next step.  Students will graduate onto working on stretchy silk, developing the strength needed to invert and work with height. Learn skills such as x back,  Rebecca split,  knee hooks, arabesque, and more!

Prerequisites:

Basics: Aerial ABC's or equivalent

NOVICE SILK & HAMMOCK

Ages 12 - 17
Mondays 4:00 - 5:00pm

This level will build your aerial strength on stretchy silk to be able to climb to the top in various ways , invert in the air, and make your footlocks off the ground.  You'll also learn fun poses and sequences and some beginner drops on hammock once you're ready.

Prerequisites:

Novice: Silk & Hammock Basics or equivalent.  Solid grasp of how to climb and make your footlocks in the air, classic/russian climb to the top of stretchy silk, flexed arm hang 15 seconds, ability to properly invert hanging in the hammock.

INTERMEDIATE SILK & HAMMOCK

Students work on increased vocabulary, drops, sequences and building aerial endurance and strength. Aerial silk requires a strong upper body and core to continue progressing and help remain safe off the ground; conditioning exercises will be incorporated into the class.  Learn progressive skills and sequences on hammock that require greater range of motion and flexibility.

Prerequisites:

Intermediate: Silk Novice or equivalent. Minimum 1 year consistent training, climb 2x's to top without rest, inversion into single knee hook with good form, cross back straddle, 30 sec flexed arm hang, hip key  & thigh hitch in air with proper technique, knee drop 

ADVANCED SILK & HAMMOCK

Ages 12 - 17
10:45 - 11:45am (This is a mixed-level class with Intermediate Students)

Advanced silk students work with full height of 20 ft on stretchy silk.  Students work on increased vocabulary, drops with slack/rolls/twists & and longer complex sequences. Advanced students possess a strong upper body and core, plus good flexibility to continue progressing and remain safe in the air.

Prerequisites:

Advanced: Silk Intermediate or equivalent. Minimum 2 years consistent training, climb 3x's to top without rest, 20 sec flexed arm hang, full split 1 direction, pike with hands passing feet, bridge with straight arms, able to complete routines 4 min long, inversions with proper technique, must be able to execute monkey drop, rebecca split drop, thigh hitches & hip keys in the air with good form.

ACT CREATION

Ages 12 - 17

Does your child love performing and creating? Is the stage calling their name?

Do they want to learn how to create their own circus act?

Showcase their talents and join our Act Creation class!

Students create their own act from choosing their apparatus & music, to creating choreography & designing their costume. Instructor gives tools to use in the creation process and provides feedback & guidance.

Acts must be between 2 - 4 minutes

The session ends with a performance in front of a live audience at The Rising's studio.

This session's theme is "Circus Through the Ages"

Teen Acts will be inspired by the 70's decade ....DISCO!

The Rising's Student performance team for ages 12 - 17.

For students committed to their circus training and interested in going beyond a recreational level.  

3 classes per week minimum

The Show Team is a full year commitment July-June

Students train year-round to create a full-length circus show which will be performed at The Rising's Studio to a public audience every June,  along with other performance opportunities through out the year.                    

Students must show a love of performance/showmanship, strong training ethic in class, and meet the strength & flexibility requirements 

​*Admission to the Show Team is by audition held every Spring Session
