The Rising - Victoria Centre for Circus Arts was established in 2017. Although the dream of it arose long ago.  

Sarah Scheunhage, founder of The Rising, started her professional circus career 25 yrs ago with The Underground Circus, Vancouver's premier full-time circus company.  

Since then she has performed across Canada from coast to coast, and in Turkey, China, and the USA for various cruise ships, theme parks, TV/Movies/Commercials, resorts, circus companies, theatre shows, and special events.  

After 2 decades of the performing life Sarah returned to her hometown of  Langford, BC to establish her circus centre and share her knowledge and passion for the circus arts through instruction and performance.  

The Rising aims to be a welcoming place to all ages and abilities where

people can discover their physical and creative potential through the circus arts.

The circus world is a place of great creativity, amazing physical feats, laughter, challenges, dreams, beauty, and lessons. So, remember -
