FAMILY VIEWING
All of The Rising’s classes age 4+ are conducted in a closed class setting. Please refer to the class descriptions below to see which days are designated as Family Viewing Days.
Because Aerial Arts is considered a high-risk activity, we strive to maintain a focused, distraction-free environment during class. Guests are warmly invited to observe on our scheduled viewing days.
Please note that our aerial studios do not have designated spectator areas. Parents and family members are welcome to wait in our lobby if they prefer to remain in the building during class times.

Step right up! This 45-minute parent & child class is all about playful exploration in a circus-themed setting. Enjoy open play on a coach-designed circus circuit, with a short group warm-up and wrap-up. Coaches provide safety supervision and will introduce a fun “Skill of the Day” each day (aerial and/or ground) for families to try together. This is not a structured class—caregivers actively guide and support their child throughout. Minimum 3 participants required to run.

CIRCUS PARKOUR

1 hr Kids Circus Parkour Class. Explore and experience our circus parkour circuit where you can swing on the ropes, climb the silks, jump off the blocks, roll on the mats, and more! Each week we will change up our circuit to try new things. Coach provides safety supervision, introduction to our circuits and some instruction of skills. No prerequisites *Students must be able to follow The Rising Circus Safety Rules. Continual violation of our rules will result in dismissal from the class without refund. Closed class setting. No viewing as we will use our entire studio space for the circuit.

Explore life under the Big Top! Circus Starter is your child's first step in our Kids Circus Programming. Learn foundational skills on aerial silk, aerial hammock, aerial hoop, trapeze, plus a few ground circus skills in a safe and supportive environment. Circus improves strength, flexibility, coordination, balance, and is a non-competitive, physically active and creative pursuit. Near the end of the session you will receive an email with your child's class level recommendation for the following session. On average, it takes 1-2 sessions for a child to pass through Circus Starter. Because aerial circus is a higher risk activity it's important they feel confident and comfortable with their circus foundations before moving into a higher level. Prerequisites: none -closed class setting -Family viewing day on first & last class of session

Is your child curious about circus and wants to check out our centre before enrolling? Or is your child already a Rising student and wants additional practice to work on their skills learned in class? Then join us for Kids Circus Happy Hour! Games and warm up led by coach followed by supervised open play on various circus equipment- aerial & ground. * this is not an instructional class. Coach provides safety supervision only. ** closed class setting. Parents can wait in our lobby if desired. *** 55 min class MAKEUP CLASS OPTION FOR ENROLLED STUDENTS: email our office at admin@therisingcircus.com to request a makeup class. Include your child's name, date of missed class, and which Circus Happy Hour date you wish to attend. If space is available we will add your child to the drop in at no extra charge. You can make up a missed class before or after it is missed as long as it is made up in the same session. Makeup classes do not carry forward into the next session. Make up class not guaranteed. Build strength, mobility, and flexibility in a fun and supportive environment! Through age-appropriate stretching and movement, students will improve both active and passive flexibility, helping them move with greater confidence while supporting injury prevention. Whether you're naturally bendy or just getting started, this class will meet you where you are and help you become stronger, more flexible, and more confident—one stretch at a time! Please note: Flexibility improves through consistency and regular practice. We'll give you the tools and exercises to continue your progress at home. Prerequisites: None.

Act Creation: Mythical Creatures Does your child love performing, storytelling, and creating? Is the stage calling their name? In this unique class, students will create and perform an original circus act inspired by the world of mythical creatures. From dragons and phoenixes to mermaids, unicorns, fairies, or creatures of their own imagination, they'll bring their ideas to life through movement and circus arts. Students will choose their apparatus and music, create original choreography, develop a character, and design a costume, while receiving guidance, creative tools, and individualized feedback from the instructor throughout the process. Using circus arts as a storytelling tool, participants will strengthen both their technical skills and their ability to express emotion, character, and meaning through performance. Each act will be 2–4 minutes in length and will be performed for a live audience at The Rising on Sunday, November 22. Please Note: A dress rehearsal will take place during the final class of the session. Attendance is mandatory in order to perform in the showcase. Prerequisites: Must be in Lion Tamers level 2 or higher

This class is your child's next step after Circus Starter. Once they have completed Circus Starter (or an equivalent program from another circus school), they're ready to begin Level 1. Students will build on their aerial foundations while progressing at their own pace on Silks, Hammock, Hoop, and Trapeze, as well as developing a variety of ground circus skills. The Level 1 curriculum is designed to be completed over one year (September–June / three sessions). Students must complete all three sessions of Level 1 before advancing to Level 2. The session concludes with a mini aerial circus performance for family and friends during the final class. Class Format: Classes are closed to spectators throughout the session, with the exception of the final performance class. Prerequisite: Circus Starter or equivalent experience from another circus school.

Designed for dedicated young aerialists, Cirque Excel is an accelerated training program for students who have surpassed Level 3 or have demonstrated exceptional progress and commitment to circus arts. Office approval is required prior to registration. In this 75-minute class, students will train on Silks, Hammock, Hoop, and Trapeze, building strength, technique, artistry, and versatility across all four aerial apparatus. The class is designed for students who are eager to be challenged and are committed to advancing their skills. The session concludes with a family viewing during the final class, where students will perform a choreographed aerial routine. Prerequisite: Office approval required.
