ADULT AERIAL ABC'S

Ages 18+

Mondays 6:30-7:30pm

Dates: July 10-Aug 28

7 weeks * No class Mon Aug 7

This 7 week course is your first step in aerial circus training.  You will learn the foundations such as how to mount and dismount, proper hanging alignment, basic skills while sitting / standing / hanging / inverting. 2 classes each on Silk, Hoop, Hammock, and Trapeze

Once you complete the course you can then move into our Basics level classes and specialize on the apparatus of your choosing.

Fee: $ 168 +tax

ADULT ROPE BASICS & NOVICE

Ages 18+

Tuesdays 7:45-8:45pm

Dates: Aug 1-22

Not your typical climbing rope!  This vertical apparatus is covered in a strong cotton sheath and even has a bit of bounce to it.  Learn basic and novice level skills and gain strength while climbing and wrapping.

Class meets once/week for 4 weeks.  Mixed levels class for beginners to high beginner level.

Cost: $99 +tax for 4 weeks

Location: Studio A

Prerequisites: 

 Overall good health.  Previous aerial experience an asset.  Must be comfortable working with height and holding body weight off the ground.

ADULT FLEXIBILITY- Beginner & Intermediate

Ages 18+

Tuesdays 6:30-7:30pm

Dates: July 4-25 and Aug 1-22

4 weeks each.  Choose either July or August OR sign up for both

Along with strength and endurance, flexibility is a key component to your circus training or for any sport you love.  Learn progressive and level appropriate exercises with Coach Adgam to improve your range of motion in active and passive flexibility and help prevent injury.

No matter what level of flexibility you have this class will meet you where you are and support you on your quest to become more limber

**Improvement in flexibility is acquired through consistency and repetition 

Take what you learn here and practice at home

Class meets once/week for 4 weeks

Prerequisites: none, overall good health

Fees: $80 +tax per 4 week session

ADULT TRAPEZE BASICS & NOVICE & INTERMEDIATE

Ages 18+

Tuesdays 6:30-7:30pm

Dates: Aug 1-22

4 weeks

The trapeze is an iconic circus apparatus and in this class it is rigged from a single point allowing for spin.  

The class will focus on Beginner to Intermediate level skills, combinations and strength & conditioning exercises.  

Class meets once/week for 4 weeks.

Fee: $99 +tax

ADULT CONTORTION

Ages 18+

Mondays 6:30-7:30pm

Dates: 4 weeks  July 10-31 

 3 weeks Aug 14-28    

Choose either July or August OR sign up for both!

Contortion is a performance art in which artists train their skills of extreme physical flexibility.

Learn progressive and level appropriate contortion exercises with Coach Adi to develop strength and proper technique for contortion.  It is important to study under a coach to avoid injury.  Coach Adi is a professional contortionist and graduate of the Nation's Circus School's Coaching program.

Fee: $88 +tax

Location: Studio A

INSTRUCTIONS & POLICIES

FOR CLASS CARD PURCHASE

This summer, the following apparatus are being offered as DROP IN CLASSES via a CLASS CARD- Hammock / Silk / Hoop / ROPE

  • To attend a Hammock, Silk, and/or  Hoop class this Summer you must purchase a class card for each apparatus and then reserve a drop in spot on the days you want to attend class.

  • Choose from either a 4 - 6 - or 8 class card. ( Hoop classes have a 7 class card due to August holiday)

  • Each class card can be used for ONLY ONE APPARATUS.

  • If you'd like to come to different apparatus, you must purchase a class card for that specific apparatus.  You can only use the class card for the apparatus it is designated to.

  • After your class card purchase, you can reserve your drop ins

  • You can reserve your drop in spots at any point up to the day you want to attend ( as long as space is still available) via the Summer 2023 Drop In Class calendar

  • Please make sure you drop in to the CORRECT level for you.  The Rising may recommend a different level if we feel it would be a better fit for you

  •  All class cards expire on Aug 28, 2023. NO REFUNDS if you do not use all your drop ins by this date

  • There must be a MINIMUM of 2 students registered per class by 4pm that day or that class will be cancelled that day.  Students will be notified by email if class is cancelled.  You can use that drop in for another day.

  • If you need to cancel a drop in reservation please email Sarah at director@therisingcircus.com

       Your email must be received before 4pm on the day of the class to receive that class back on your class card.  If your                email is sent after 4pm, you will forfeit that drop in. No exceptions.

ADULT AERIAL HOOP

BASICS & NOVICE

Ages 18+

Mondays 7:45-8:45pm

Dates: drop ins from July 10-Aug 28

BASICS: So you've decided to specialize on aerial hoop and want to solidify your foundational skills! This class will cover all you need to know from mounts and dismounts, hangs, inverting, poses, and building your spin tolerance.

NOVICE:  Take your aerial hoop a step further in our Novice class now that you've got a solid foundation.  Work below, inside and on top of the hoop as you finesse your transitions.

* this is a mixed levels class

Location: Studio A & B

BASICS Prerequisites: Adult Aerial ABC's

NOVICE Prerequisites:  Aerial Hoop Basics or equivalent.  Solid grasp of basics.  Able to mount/dismount hoop with ease. Knee Hang 20 sec.  Able to work on all levels of hoop- under hoop,  inside hoop, on top of hoop.  Flexed arm hang 15 sec

ADULT AERIAL HOOP

INTERMEDIATE

Ages 18+

Mondays 7:45-8:45pm

Dates: drop ins from  July 10-Aug 28

Intermediate skills, spins, transitions, and a strong emphasis on sequencing and working with a spin.  Hoop will be used at various heights.  

Gain more strength, flexibility, and skill knowledge​​. Routine will be taught at end of session

Location: Studio A & B

Prerequisites:  single knee hangs 20 sec, 10 chin up feet on ground, 10 tuck leg lifts, 5 skin the cats, 1 arm hangs 10 sec each arm, comfortable working with spin, minimum 1 year consistent training, pull over on bottom and top bar with proper technique

ADULT AERIAL HOOP

ADVANCED

Ages 18+

Mondays 6:30-7:30pm

Dates: drop ins from July 10-Aug 28

Advanced hangs, spins, transitions, release skills and a strong emphasis on sequencing and working with a spin.  Hoop will be used at various heights. Routine will be taught at end of session.

Aerial Hoop requires a strong upper body and core, plus good flexibility to continue progressing and help remain safe off the ground.  We strongly encourage our students to make use of Open Training Drop In to do muscle conditioning, stretch and review skills learned in class

Location: Studio A & B

Prerequisites:  Intermediate Hoop or equivalent, minimum 2 years consistent training, 1 arm hang 15 sec, 30 second single knee hang ,  2 full chin ups, 1 full leg lifts, 5 skin the cats, comfortable with fast spin and release skills

ADULT AERIAL HAMMOCK

BASICS & NOVICE 

Ages 18+

Thursdays 6:00-7:00pm

Dates: drop ins from  July 6-Aug 24

BASICS: Aerial Hammock ( sometimes called Aerial Sling) is an apparatus similar to aerial silk but is rigged to create a loop in the bottom giving you a shelf to sit or stand on.  This course will solidify your foundational knowledge of the apparatus to give you the skills to attempt higher level skills with inversions or a drop or more complicated wraps.  

*This is a split level class with Novice.

NOVICE: Taking your basic Hammock skills up a notch explore skills, hangs, spins, and sequences plus the introduction of simple drops or saltos.  Gain strength, flexibility, and coordination to build your skill repertoire.

Location: Studio A & B

Prerequisites:  Aerial Abc's or equivalent

ADULT AERIAL HAMMOCK

INTERMEDIATE & ADVANCED

Ages 18+

Thursdays 7:15-8:15pm

Dates:  drop ins from July 6-Aug 24

Intermediate & Advanced  skills, drops, transitions, with a strong emphasis on sequencing and working with a spin.  Gain more strength, flexibility, and skill knowledge​​. 

Location: Studio A & B

Prerequisites:  Hammock Novice, 5 pullovers without kicking or pushing off of poles, salto drop, inversions in air with ease, ability to work with spin with ease, minimum 1 yr consistent training

ADULT AERIAL SILK

BASICS

AGES 18+

Wednesdays 6:30-7:30pm

Dates: drop ins from July 5-Aug 23

This class will help you solidify your skills from Aerial ABC's and expand your skill library.  Work on your foot locks, inversions, and basic foundations.  Stretchy silk will be introduced.

Location: Studio A & B

Prerequisites:  Aerial ABC's or equivalent

ADULT AERIAL SILKS

NOVICE

Ages 18+

Wednesdays 7:45-8:45pm

Dates: drop ins from July 5-Aug 23

This level will build your aerial strength on stretchy silk to be able to climb to the top in various ways , invert in the air, and make your footlocks off the ground.  You'll also learn fun poses and sequences and some beginner drops once you're ready.

Students work on increased vocabulary, drops, sequences and building aerial endurance and strength.

Location: Studio A & B

Prerequisites:  Silk Novice or equivalent. 

minimum 1 year consistent training

PLUS: Climb 2x's to top without rest, inversion into single knee hook with good form, cross back straddle, 30 sec flexed arm hang, hip key  & thigh hitch in air with proper technique , knee drop,  monkey drop, salto drop ( all with good form)

ADULT AERIAL SILKS

INTERMEDIATE & ADVANCED

Ages 18+

Wednesdays 6:30-7:30pm

Dates: drop ins from July 5-Aug 23

Mixed level class where students work on increased vocabulary, drops, sequences and building aerial endurance and strength on stretchy silk up to 20 ft high

PREREQUISITES 

 INTERMEDIATE:  Silk Basics or equivalent.  Solid grasp of how to climb and make your footlocks in the air, classic/russian climb to the top of stretchy silk, flexed arm hang 20 seconds, ability to properly invert in the air and hold position 

ADVANCED: Silk Intermediate or equivalent, minimum 2 years consistent training, Climb 3x's to top without rest, 45 sec flexed arm hang, full split 1 direction, pike with hands passing feet, bridge with straight arms, able to complete routines 4 min long, straight leg inversions, must be able to demonstrate a solid grasp of at least 5 different drops with good technique, hip key, thigh hitch

ADULT ROPE

BASICS & NOVICE

Ages 18+

Tuesdays 7:45-8:45pm

Dates: drop ins from Aug 1-22
