Winter Session 2022 Information

10 weeks Jan 10-March 20

  • We have a variety of adult classes for beginners-advanced 

  • Please choose class according to your level  
  • If you are new to aerial/circus then you must complete the Adult Aerial ABC's session prior to starting leveled classes
  • After completing Aerial ABC's students can choose to specialize on an apparatus 
  • Pre-requisites for leveled classes are listed below under each class.  
  • If you are unsure which class to choose, please call the office and we will help you make your decision 
  • If we feel you are not in the correct level for your ability we will ask that you switch to a more appropriate level for your safety
  • Students often stay in same level for multiple sessions and work at their own pace
  • All Classes are pro-rated for late registration
  • All students should be in overall good health 
  • Please familiarize yourself with The Rising's POLICIES and our Communicable Disease Prevention Guidelines
  •  All students must sign our waiver online when they create their Rising account 
  • Register for 2 or more aerial classes and receive 10-15% off automatically when you check out!
       ( excluding Workshops, ground-based classes, Open Training) 
  • Make up Classes: if you miss a class you can reserve a spot in Open Training Drop In on Saturdays at no charge

ADULT AERIAL ABC'S

Wednesdays

5:15-6:15PM

Jan 12- March 16

10 Weeks

This class is your starting point when you begin your aerial training

Foundational class for all beginners

Learn the basics of aerial silk, hammock, hoop, and trapeze in a safe and supportive environment and discover the "aerial star" inside of you! Learn skill such as Man in The Moon, Mermaid, Star, and more!

Develop your strength, flexibility, balance and coordination

Prerequisites: none.  Students should be in overall good health

* This class is a prerequisite for all beginner - advanced classes

Cost: $240 +tax

ADULT AERIAL HOOP- BEGINNER

Fridays

6:00-7:00pm

Jan 14-March 18

10 weeks

Beginner skills, hangs, spins, transitions, and  sequencing on aerial hoop.  Gain strength, flexibility, and coordination to build your skill repertoire.  Explore the hoop at different heights and enjoy the beauty of this apparatus

Beginner Prequisites : Aerial ABC's or equivalent

Cost: $240+tax

ADULT AERIAL HOOP- INTERMEDIATE

Mondays

7:45-8:45pm

Jan 10-March  14

9 weeks

Intermediate hangs, spins, transitions, and a strong emphasis on sequencing and working with a spin.  Hoop will be used at various heights.  Gain more strength, flexibility, and skill knowledge​

Prerequisites: single knee hangs 20 sec, 10 chin up feet on ground, 10 tuck leg lifts, 5 skin the cats, 1 arm hangs 10 sec each arm, comfortable working with spin, minimum 1 year consistent training, pull over on bottom and top bar with proper technique

ADULT AERIAL HOOP-ADVANCED

Mondays

6:30-7:30pm

9 weeks

* no class Feb 21 (Family Day)

Advanced hangs, spins, transitions, releases and a strong emphasis on sequencing and working with a spin.  Hoop will be used at various heights.  Gain more strength, flexibility, and skill knowledge​

Prerequisites: Intermediate Hoop or equivalent, minimum 2 years consistent training, 1 arm hang 15 sec, 30 second single knee hang ,  2 full chin ups, 3 full leg lifts, 5 skin the cats, comfortable with fast spin and release skills

ADULT AERIAL SILK- BEGINNER

Tuesdays

7:45-8:45pm

Jan 11- March 15

10 weeks

Building on foundational knowledge, explore climbs, wraps, short sequences and poses on aerial silk. Gain aerial strength, knowledge, endurance.  Foundational skills like inversions, foot locks in air, hip key, and thigh hitch will be a focus

Aerial silk requires a strong upper body and core to continue progressing and help remain safe off the ground.  We strongly encourage our students to make use of Open Training Drop In to do muscle conditioning, review skills learned in class and stretch. 

Beginner Prerequisites: Aerial ABC's or equivalent 

Cost: $240 +tax

ADULT AERIAL SILK- INTERMEDIATE

Wednesdays

7:45-8:45pm

Jan 12-March 16

10 weeks

Students work on inversions, increased vocabulary, drops, sequences and building aerial endurance and strength.

Aerial silk requires a strong upper body and core to continue progressing and help remain safe off the ground.  We strongly encourage our students to make use of Open Training Drop In  to do muscle conditioning, review skills learned in class and stretch.  

Prerequisites: Beginner Silk or equivalent  and approval from instructor, minimum 1 year consistent training

PLUS: Climb 2x's to top without rest, single foot locks off ground, inversion into single knee hook with good form, cross back straddle, 30 sec flexed arm hang, hip key in air from scissor & thigh hitch in air with proper technique from an inversion, knee drop,  monkey drop ( all with good form)

Adult Aerial Silk - Intermediate

ADULT AERIAL SILK- ADVANCED

Wednesdays

6:30-7:30pm

Jan 12-March 16

10 weeks

Advanced silk class working with full height of 20 ft on stretchy silk.  Students work on increased vocabulary, drops with slack/rolls/twists/releases, longer sequences 

Aerial silk requires a strong upper body and core to continue progressing and help remain safe off the ground.  We strongly encourage our students to make use of Open Training Drop In to do muscle conditioning, review skills learned in class and stretch.  

Prerequisites: must have intermediate level class experience, minimum 2 years consistent training, Climb 3x's to top without rest, 45 sec flexed arm hang, able to complete routines 4 min long, straight leg inversions, must be able to demonstrate a solid grasp of at least 5 different drops with good technique, hip key, thigh hitch

ADULT AERIAL HAMMOCK- BEGINNER / INTERMEDIATE 1

This class explores skills and lower level drops on  non-stretch aerial hammock.  Students will also be taught sequences to music.

Aerial Hammock uses the silk as a loop closer to the floor which allows for spins, floor work, and lots of options for aerial dance

Beginner Prerequisites- Aerial ABC's or equivalent

Intermediate Prerequisites: 20 sec flexed arm hang, 10 full pull ups feet on ground, 10 tuck leg lifts, 5 clean straight leg inversions , able to perform Beginner skills with good technique.  Minimum 6 months consistent training

Cost: $240 +tax

ADULT AERIAL HAMMOCK- INTERMEDIATE 2 / ADVANCED

Thursdays

6:30-7:30pm

10 weeks 

Higher level aerial hammock class focusing on  skills and drops with spin and more intricate wraps.   Sequences to music on aerial hammock up to 4 min long

Aerial Hammock uses the silk as a loop closer to the floor which allows for spins, floor work, and lots of options for aerial dance

Intermediate 2 Prerequisites- Intermediate 1 plus 45 sec flexed arm hang, 5 straight leg lifts, minimum 1 yr consistent training, must be able to invert into same side knee hook off ground while standing in loop

Advanced Prerequisites: Intermediate 2 Skills with good technique, 2 years consistent training

ADULT TRAPEZE- HIGH BEGINNER / INTERMEDIATE

4 weeks only

Train with former Cirque Du Soleil Artist and coach Alia Saurini!

The class will focus on High Beginner and Intermediate level skills, combinations and strength & conditioning exercises. 

Please note: This is a shorter course this Winter.  Only 4 weeks long.

Prerequisites: Trapeze or Aerial Hoop foundations, must be able to invert, single knee hang

Cost: $96 +tax

ADULT AERIAL ROPE ( Corde lisse) - BEGINNER

4 weeks only

Train with Cirque Du Soleil artist and coach Alia Saurini!

This class will focus on beginner level rope skills, climbs, combinations and strength & conditioning exercises. 

Please note: this course is only 4 weeks long

Prerequisites: None.  Students should be in good overall health
